I propose, in addition to the fee networks pay to be on PUBLIC airwaves, that TV networks be required to set aside 30 minutes a day, during the last 30 days before an election, for political ads. Not the 20 second sound bites, but 5 minute long films during prime time, for top five parties. This is long --allowing policies to be described in detail to win votes.<br /> <br /> And because it's the top FIVE parties, this would instantly eliminate the stranglehold of the two party system. And we'd use citizen signatures decide who's in the top five, instantly leveling the playing field between rich and poor campaigns, strictly pitting the quality of ideas against each other -- not volume of cash.
