Mr. Mendte's proposal is a good one with regards to our national lawmakers:  if you don't keep at least one important promise, don't seek relection.

As illustrated earlier in the video, a major problem as to why Congress gets so little done is that they get most of the year off.

I applaud the idea but it is still incumbent on 'we the people' to exercise our power and insure they are not reelected. In addition to fewer recesses, I think congessional pay should be tied to the average American's wage. The plethora of multimillionares currently in office certainly don't represent and have considerable difficulty relating to the average American.
