Seeking Citizens Party Opinion Writers for New Local Online Newspapers

The Citizens Party is seeking serious and talented writers to craft occasional opinion pieces to help introduce voters and non-voters to the Citizens Party. These opinion pieces will run in several different new small online newspapers starting sometime in 2012. We have a golden opportunity to introduce tens of thousands of Americans to the Citizens Party through these new local and regional online newspapers. The payoff for this will be long term gains for the Citizens Party beginning in late 2012 and accelerating beyond 2012. This is a long term effort as most of the new exposure will begin after the 2012 general election.

We will consider interested writers that support and have a familiarity with the Citizens Party. The selected writers will be expected to craft an opinion piece about once every 90 days that introduces the Citizens Party, supports the Citizens Party, promotes CP bread and butter issues, calls for fair ballot access, calls for the need for a third party or points out the failed polices of the two parties (including the Congress and/or the President). Good grammar and form is an absolute must. Interested individuals must submit 1 or 2 quality writing samples (any subject). Send your writing samples and contact info. (email and/or phone #) to info@votecitizens.org.

I would also recommend that you also send me a private message on here (votecitizens.org) just before or after you send your writing samples so that I know to watch for them.

Good grief! I meant to say "You may have a problem with my form..."

Michael Thompson has written: "Good grammar and form is an absolute must."

you may haveb a problem with my "form". I have a tendency to capitalize, not only pro-nouns, but also what i consider to be important and positive concepts.

I see this trait as an improvement over "standard" writing form(s)...but also have run into resistant attitudes about it in submitted writing elsewhere.

For example: most writers refer to "Democracy" as "democracy". Or "Liberty" as "liberty". To my mind, these words represent important concepts that deserve a little respect. So, I capitalize them. Seems like the "Right" thing to do to me.

On the other hand...I have to resist the tendency to want to use small case on things and concepts that I feel are detrimental (for the most part?) to Humanity as in We The People ....The Many. For example, I might say "the few", when referring to the "1%", or "new world order", "oligarchy", "monopoly corporation" or even "republican" (though this is rare, even for me).

Just not sure how this would fly in this fine party site.

So? How is this going this year?

Our local newspaper (Sonora's "Union Democrat") has an online feature. Maybe I can get some information about "Citizens Party" into it.

It would be great if news and information from the "Citizens Party" would bring a fresh stream and new life into this struggling daily. Maybe I could even place some full page ads.

Have a great day.
