I'm really into the regalia thing and like a Good motto too.

Kevin P. Sims got me going on this subject, with his blog post about Citizens Party clothing (t-shirts). He even proposed a great design...a White Elk (or Stag) on a purple field...accompanied by the words "Citizens Party". Good work Kevin.

As I got to thinking about his fine design, it occurred to me that a Good motto should be on there too. And then I realized that I have not seen any Citizen Party mottoes yet.

So. Hows abouts it yall? Lets have a good ol' fashioned motto development contest?

How about: "Citizens Party - Home Of The Better America Patriot" Hmmm, maybe not...kinda vague maybe.

So, yall take a swing at it. Reply here with your ideas and then We can all decide what Our Motto shall be. (And this doesn't have to be engraved in stone. We can always change it later.)

Who's motto will be Our Party's first motto? Submit and vote here.

Get ready! Get set! GO!

Citizenship: the character of an individual viewed as a member of society; behavior in terms of the duties, obligations, and functions of a citizen (dictionary.com)

Citizens, taking action for a better America.

I like "Fighting for the American Middle Class". Being of the moderately skilled American Labor Force, I relate to the concept of the "American Middle Class"...and its great potential for America.

"Seeking National Self-Reliance" seems a bit too abstract. Though I do value "Self-Reliance" at many levels. It is an essential ingredient in the solutions to identification and correction of the problems of the United States of America.

Mottoes are really tough for me, because they are limited as to amount of concept they can relay. A really good motto says a lot, or implies a lot, in a few words.

Thanks for posting your ideas for a party motto. Keep the ideas/suggestions coming. We have had some mission statements that we have amended several times. And we have used several short phrases or blurbs associated with our name from time to time, such as "Fighting for the American Middle Class" and "Seeking National Self-Reliance" and so forth.

Party Logo - In addition to a motto, we have two other items that we would like to decide very soon. We need to construct a logo. We have several talented individuals willing to give this a try after the party gives them more feedback. The logo will be on our new websites and all party materials.

Party symbol - We currently do not have a party symbol or shield. The started the process in several past member surveys, but hadn't come to a conclusion. We started out with about 30 suggestions and after voting the top selections were American Elk, American Wild Horse, American Grey Wolf, a combination of a fist and a gadsten flag (kind of a combination of occupy wall street & the tea party), Dolphin, a symbol design using the words Citizens Party and several other options.

We will be posting a separate blog post to gather suggestions on a party symbol and logo. I don't want people to use this thread for these. I just wanted everyone to be aware and to start thinking about a logo and symbol. Keep this thread for motto discussions.

Thank you, "Sensible Sailor". Your new mission statement helped me to see better, your motto references.

I'm Happy that you have placed The American People (as many as possible) as the "primary focus" and "direct beneficiaries" of New American National Policies. If We do well for Our Nation and Ourselves, this would surely benefit Our World? (Our = All of Humanity's...Planet) Especially if We become less the "empire" and more the Friend and Partner of the rest Our World.

I would like this mission statement to, at least, be included on the front page here. I believe there's room for both.

I would be willing to bet that Michael ("CP") has read these blog posts and is considering your seconded suggestion.

Thanks for another thoughtful post.

I expounded a bit more on my idea of a motto for this party, essentially turning it into a mission statement.

Globally Aware: From jet travel to the interconnected market economy and encompassing world wide web; the world is more intertwined than ever before. Events occurring even on the opposite end of our planet have repercussions here in our country. Meanwhile, as the undisputed 'leader' of the free world with significant economic clout, choices we make here have worldwide ramifications.  We are not in a position to turn our back on the world and we must be aware that our decisions here affect others worldwide.

Prioritize Nationally: Decisions we make for our great nation ought to be made in the context of their impact to the rest of the world. But first and foremost, we must insure the American people are the primary focus and direct beneficiaries of new policies enacted and of any new missions/commitments undertaken around the globe. Because a strong America benefits the rest of the world.

Active Locally: It starts here with personal action. Nobody gets elected to the White House or Congress without first making a name at the local level. Get involved in your city councils, Speak up at county/district meetings. Make people want to put you in charge because you have good ideas. When they ask what political party your affiliated with, that's when you proudly state that you are a CITIZEN of this great Nation.

On a side note, I'd almost rather read this when I'm on the Citizen home page instead of the 'Welcome all outcasts of the political party mainstream' that's currently there. I dunno who to talk to at the administrator level tho.

Very modern and succinct, John Edward Kurian Jr.  Inclusive of others in a personal way.

And so very True.

Anymore suggestions someone?

Now I am wondering of all of these suggestions could be on a t-shirt? Front and back?

On the front - "CP4U2", or "CP4US", with "It's Time" under that and then under that "www.votecitizens.org" ?

Maybe on the back - "Our Responsibilities; Commitment to Community - Public Service.

Aware Globally, Prioritize Nationally, Active Locally.

Citizens Party"

Yeah. I am greedy to have ALL of these Good suggestions as Our Motto...but this probably won't happen.

Let's wait a little while and see if some more ideas will come in and then take a preliminary vote.

Hmmm. "Prioritize Nationally"? National Priorities.

Sensible Sailor? Would you write a blog about this concept. I would like to see how you see this. I guess I am trying to develop a Better Understanding of the relationship between local government and "National Priorities".

Yes Hunter Wayne Crow. I like that too. Four Good words for "Citizens Party" to live by. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Of the three motto suggestions, I like "Sensible Sailor's" the best.

It refers to three important aspects of "Citizens Party" as it seems to be at this time. The only thing I would change, would be to place the words "Citizens Party" in front of the three aspects.

Hoping to see more ideas about this.
