I'm really into the regalia thing and like a Good motto too.

Kevin P. Sims got me going on this subject, with his blog post about Citizens Party clothing (t-shirts). He even proposed a great design...a White Elk (or Stag) on a purple field...accompanied by the words "Citizens Party". Good work Kevin.

As I got to thinking about his fine design, it occurred to me that a Good motto should be on there too. And then I realized that I have not seen any Citizen Party mottoes yet.

So. Hows abouts it yall? Lets have a good ol' fashioned motto development contest?

How about: "Citizens Party - Home Of The Better America Patriot" Hmmm, maybe not...kinda vague maybe.

So, yall take a swing at it. Reply here with your ideas and then We can all decide what Our Motto shall be. (And this doesn't have to be engraved in stone. We can always change it later.)

Who's motto will be Our Party's first motto? Submit and vote here.

Get ready! Get set! GO!

Michael Thompson shared: "...I don't want the party to become more important than our communities, country and the issues we are fighting for."

Yes. I think this is important to remember and adhere to.

I don't think a chant, We might occasionally sing, would make Us more important than Our Communities, Country or issues.

"We our the Citizens, who make our country strong."

Another Good one. But, I am wondering if the word "our" is a play on the word "are"? Interesting.

I am not crazy about a chant, as I don't want the party to become more important than our communities, country and the issues we are fighting for. We do have a candidates pledge, but not a pledge for members.

I like all of the ideas for a motto, keep them coming. It might be helpful to google your ideas too, in order to make sure no one else is already using that motto, symbol or logo. The logo is the most urgent item. The symbol and motto are not necessarily required, but may or may not be helpful. I do like the suggestion by Sensible Sailor. It is short, not too specific and easy to remember.

Thanks John Edward Kurian Jr.

"Concerned Citizens for Honest and Open Government" is a good starting motto for Us and where We are at in Our formative stages right now. As We develop, Our motto could change.

I like the idea of an "Honor Pledge" and "Chant" too. These would also have their uses for the Citizens Party.

Oooh! I like! "Sensible Sailor's comment, that throws light on "Citizenship" itself, very much, because:

I believe there needs to be an intense exploration and discussion of what Citizenship should mean to Us here and in Our Nation. I intend to open this discussion (with Sensible's comment) in a group or blog site. I am almost ready to start this activity (begin to respond to Sensible's comment here) with an extensive and suggestive comment of my own...its almost finished.

As to his great motto: "Citizens, taking action for a better America."

All I would suggest changing is: "Citizens, taking Action for a Better America."

And then, of course. would be another exploration and discussion of what We mean by "Better".
